How to Make an SDS-PAGE gel

Alright so here's a quick video on how to cast an SDS-PAGE gel. Although recipes can vary, the ingredients shown here are almost always used. Remember: always add TEMED last, and pour into plates immediately after!

Already know how to make a gel, but have problems with leaky gels? Check out our other video on How to Avoid a Leaky SDS-PAGE gel.

Okay now that you know how to make it, check out this video on How to Run an SDS-PAGE gel.

What did you use as your buffer?
  2. labtricks
Hi Michelle, For Resolving Gel: pause the video at 1:56 and you will see that the buffer used is 1.5M Tris-HCl at pH 8.8 For Stacking Gel: pause the video at 3:53 and you will see that the buffer used is 0.5M Tris-HCl at pH 6.8 *These are the standard buffers that are usually used when making SDS-PAGE gels. If you need any more help, just reply back :) Good luck!

Can you please post video related to ELISA. Southern and Western blot.

Hi Naresh, I've added your request to the list of topics that we have. It may be a while before we get to that because we don't use those techniques very often in our own lab, and so we don't have ready access to the equipment. But if you have any questions, feel free to ask us and we'll do our best to answer! =)
